I am two-thirds of the way through "The Wind in the Willows," and I keep catching myself saying things like "this is going to be easy" and "100 books isn't that many." Which is really quite stupid because my first book was pretty short (by comparison to other books on the list) and this book can be purchased in the bookstore in the "kid's fiction" section. But so far I am feeling pretty good.
"The Wind in the Willows" is such a change from "The Sound and the Fury," and I am really enjoying reading such a whimisical and happy book. I figured when I started this process that I would be reading mostly depressing books... it is kind of like movie awards. Most of the time only really heart-wrenching movies win awards... although you get an occasional Johnny Depp in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" nomination. The Wind in the Willows is my Johnny Depp. Too bad it came so early.
